BIOGRAPHY Måns Zelmerlöw, born June 13, 1986 in Lund, Sweden, is a Swedish pop singer, best known for his 2007 song "Cara Mia," which was his entry into that year's Melodifestivalen.
Zelmerlöw started his singing career In 2005 when he took part in the Swedish version of "Idol" coming an overall 5th when he was eliminated on November 11th after 8 weeks on the show. In 2006, Zelmerlöw took part in "Let's Dance", where with dance partner Maria Karlsson, he triumphed and took 1st place. As well as appearing as Danny in the Swedish version of musical "Grease", Måns signed a record deal with M&L Records, a division of Warner Music Sweden to release an album.
In 2007, Zelmerlöw competed in Melodifestivalen with the song "Cara Mia" which finished in third place behind winners The Ark and runner-up Andreas Johnson. "Cara Mia" was released as a single and Måns' debut album Stand By For... followed shortly after. The album performed very well, reaching number 1 in Sweden and being certified platinum by IFPI. Also in the same year, Zelmerlöw starred in the musical version of "Footloose". In 2009, Zelmerlöw released his second album "MZW" which was certified gold by the IFPI and has reached number 1 on the Swedish album charts, the album has also been released in Poland. In 2009 Måns played a summer tour of Sweden performing songs from both albums.
